Deposit

The deposit of $849 is collected at the time of booking and covers the initial call-out and assessment. It is credited against your final invoice. If the job does not proceed for any reason outside your control, the deposit is refundable less any costs incurred.

Towing Fee

Where the vehicle needs to be transported to a workshop — either because on-site draining is not possible, or because the vehicle has been driven and requires more extensive work — a towing fee applies. This covers the tow truck operator's time, fuel, and equipment. Our current towing rates are published at eek.nz/rate-card.

Labour

Labour covers the technician's time for the drain, flush, filter replacement, and system verification. It is charged at an hourly rate with a minimum billing period. Complex jobs — vehicles that have been driven on the wrong fuel, or vehicles requiring injector cleaning — attract higher labour charges.

Fuel Disposal Fee

Contaminated fuel is a hazardous waste. Its removal, transport, and disposal by a licensed contractor is a real cost that cannot be avoided under New Zealand law. This fee reflects the licensed disposal pathway for the volume removed from your vehicle.

Platform, Compliance & Coordination Fee

This $275 fee covers the mandatory NZIFDA National Misfuel Register filing that EEK Mechanical completes on your behalf, plus our coordination platform and payment processing infrastructure. It is disclosed as a separate line item so you can see exactly what you are paying for. It cannot be waived — the register filing is legally required from April 2026.
